The 8th generation Golf has a new sporty front and rear bumper design, the IQ.LIGHT intelligent light system with full LED technology, including light-sensitive automatic headlights (including Coming Home and Leaving Home functions), an aerodynamic improvement in the body design unlike the Volkswagen Indonesia version, a reduction in frontal area to 2.21m2 and a reduction in wind resistance coefficient from 0.3 in the previous generation to 0.275 in wind tunnel tests. The triple-layered side waistline and sporty rear roofline are sporty, while the classic C-pillar and sporty rear wing are retained to give a smooth visual impression. The Style models are equipped with chrome-plated frames on the left and right side of the bumper, which is a refined aesthetic. The R-Line models have an exclusive R-Line air power package with emblems, and the latest main color of the 8th generation Golf, metallic lime yellow, defines a new dynamic. The GTI is equipped with 19-inch exclusive aluminum rims and GTI exclusive high-performance red brake calipers, classic red trim and GTI emblem to highlight the classic steel cannon identity, GTI exclusive exterior air package and GTI exclusive “X” LED front fog lights, which are unmistakable in the dark. In addition, to pay tribute to the classic first-generation GTI, a new color, King’s Landing Red, has been introduced to continue the GTI’s hot-blooded driving nature.
The interior space and texture of the 8th generation Golf is simple and large. All models are equipped with dual front seat lumbar adjustment, the Style models have ArtVelours suede/fabric seats with multi-directional electric adjustment and massage function, and the R-Line models have sports seats, a large electric sunroof and an exclusive sporty Cham black top, creating a textured ride. The GTI also shows its sporty spirit in the interior, including the GTI’s exclusive three-spoke leather multifunctional sports steering wheel, honeycomb center console, door trim and metal pedals, plus the first-ever Vienna leather sports seats with electric driver seat adjustment and dual front seats. The vehicle’s heated dual front seats and other features provide a combat driving atmosphere.
The 8th generation Golf introduces a new generation of digital cockpit, redesigned with the luxury brand in mind, abandoning the traditional interior with physical knobs and using a large number of smart touch panels. The new Discover Pro 10-inch Multi-media Mirror Touch Panel (MIB 3) is standard on the Style and above models, and provides a large and clear interface with the MIB 3 Advanced Tab mirror touch panel. In addition to operating various functions through the center screen, the driver can also quickly adjust the air conditioning, volume, seat heating, fault warning light and driving mode by using the Touch Slider digital touch bar below the screen or the center console touch shortcut keys, providing powerful digital utility.
