ESTA Applicants and Travelers without valid visas

You may be eligible to travel to the US Visa for Luxembourg Citizens
using the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA)  instead of a visa if you meet the requirements for visa-free travel under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). ESTA is administered by the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Note: ESTA is not administered by the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg, and consular staff cannot answer questions about ESTA eligibility, corrections to ESTA applications, or denial of boarding decisions.

For more information about ESTA: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/esta

To apply for ESTA: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta

For FAQs about ESTA: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/faq?lang=en

To resolve any issues with incorrect, pending or denied ESTA applications, please contact CBP directly. You can reach CBP by phone Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:30 Eastern Standard Time (EST) at +1-202-325-8000 (for overseas callers) or at 1-877-CBP-5511 (for callers within the United States). You can also contact their help center online at https://www.cbp.gov/contact

For individuals who do not qualify for ESTA, please follow the instructions below for information on applying for a non-immigrant visa.

Application process for non-immigrant visas

The U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg provides routine nonimmigrant visa appointments to citizens and residents of Luxembourg, as well as those individuals who live in neighboring countries and commute to Luxembourg for work. Appointments for non-residents are only available the last Thursday of each month, and wait-times are likely to be several months long. Appointments booked by non-residents on any other date will be canceled.

Applicants must book an appointment for a visa interview online as explained in the Application process for non-immigrant visas. Please book only one slot when applying as a family. Children under 14 years of age do not have to be present. Applicants for petition-based visas (H, L, O, P, Q, R), treaty trader/investor visas (E) and crew visas (C1/D) should contact LuxembourgConsular@state.gov to request an appointment. All other applicants must book online.

We do not have a mail-in program for visa renewals. You may qualify for an interview waiver based on your prior visa, however, all applicants in Luxembourg must book an appointment and pay the MRV fee at the U.S. Embassy.

It is possible that a date for a visa interview will not be available. Please prepare your DS-160 and check the online agenda on our website regularly. New slots can become available any time. Should you have an urgent need to travel, please refer to Obtaining an expedited appointment (we cannot accommodate requests for an expedited appointment from non-residents). If an appointment is not available when you check the website, please continue to check the website on a regular basis, as appointments will continue to open into the future.

Please note that, while we make every effort to honor the appointments we offer, interviews may be cancelled or postponed at the last minute, due to unexpected circumstances.

DISCLAIMER: Admission to the US Visa for Lithuanian Citizens remains subject to a determination by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers upon arrival at a U.S. Port of Entry. A valid visa or ESTA is not a guarantee of admission.
